Obtaining a good PC without having to pay a lot of money is a major issue, but the situation isn’t hopeless.
Users may choose a desktop that meets both their price and performance needs, at least to some degree, due to companies like iBUYPOWER.
So here’s a look at the iBUYPOWER Enthusiast AM010A, an entry-level gaming computer to consider.
It features a big enough chassis (some would argue too big), a 6-core AMD CPU, a low-end dedicated GPU, adequate RAM, and a hard drive for storage.
While the overall connection isn’t the most up-to-date, you do receive all of the necessary ports and slots. Now, if a USB Type-C connector was on your wish list, I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.
In this review, we’ve covered all of the important aspects of the desktop, which may be precisely what you wanted to know before making a choice.

Review of the iBUYPOWER Enthusiast AM010A Gaming PC
Purchase for: Reasonable price and enough specifications
Be wary of: Out-of-date specifications and a bulky case design
Sims 4, WOW, Football Manager, and other comparable games have the best applications.
Skytech Archangel and iBuypower Element 9260 are the best options.
While the iBuyPower Enthusiast AM010A is not a good enough choice as an entry-level gaming desktop in 2021, it may still be a viable alternative for individuals searching for a prebuilt rather than constructing a desktop on their own on a very limited budget.
Design and Construction
The design of any gaming PC is typically the first thing people notice, and the case utilized offers its own set of benefits.
Now, the desktop here isn’t that different from other towers, with internal illumination, a glass panel on one side, and other features.
The chassis utilized here isn’t too ornate, and you’ll see it on a few other bespoke desktops from the company.
The power button is located at the top of the front panel, along with a few connectors.
The side glass panel should be easy to remove, and there is modest illumination inside as well as on the cooling fan.
While the case’s build quality is excellent, it might have been lower in size.
The additional interior space allows for a variety of improvements, but given the spec sheet, any major changes are unnecessary.
Furthermore, the dimensions are no longer compact, which, in this situation, is more of a problem than a benefit.
The AMD FX 6300 CPU, one of the first gaming processors, is now installed within the chassis and on the motherboard.
It has six cores but no support for hyperthreading.
The processor’s basic clock is 3.5 GHz, and it doesn’t go much higher with turbo boosting.
Given the frequency of some of the most recent launches, this does not seem to be sufficient.
And when it comes to single-core performance, well, it’s not that impressive.
However, the processor’s multi-core performance is enough, or at least near to it, when compared to the requirements of consumers when it was initially released.
There’s also 8 GB DDR3 RAM, a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 GPU, and a 1 TB hard drive in this.
So, with the exception of the Windows 10 OS, which is already installed, they are also of the older kind.
You may be asking, therefore, what is the purpose of this computer. Other applications exist, but casual gaming is the most well-known.
So, if you like single-player games like The Sims 4, Need for Speed, and other similar titles, you may find this desktop handy.
However, bear in mind that frame rates will be close to 60 fps, and only on low to mid settings, depending on the game.
The reason for this is because the GT 710’s 1 GB VRAM has certain restrictions.
Other non-intensive tasks that depend on many cores rather than a single core, or general use that requires higher graphics than integrated graphics, are also included.
One advantage of the CPU is that, despite its low price, it is one of the few of its type that can be overclocked.
If you do intend on tinkering with internal voltages, make sure you have a far better cooling system than the desktop does.
The Enthusiast AM010A comes with Windows 10 Home preloaded, which should be sufficient for most purposes.
RAM and storage
When you first get the desktop out of the box, it comes with a hard disk that is purely for storage. It’s a 1 TB disk, but you can expand it with additional capacity.
In this case, there are slots for both SSDs and hard disks.
As previously stated, the RAM is DDR3, and the 8 GB of memory may be extended through expansion ports.
So, with a few tweaks, your desktop may become much more responsive and easy to use.
Connectivity and ports
Two USB ports are located on the front of the Enthusiast AM010A, while many more are located on the rear.
Although there is no USB Type-C connector, the majority of them are USB 3.0. One cannot criticize, however, given the price and overall specifications.
Aside from that, there are a few video connectors via which you may connect additional displays.
Because there is no integrated GPU on this, the GT 710 is responsible for all visuals.
Furthermore, the desktop has Bluetooth and WIFI ac, eliminating the need for additional adapters for wireless connection.
Features Not Included
In addition to the features listed above, the Enthusiast AM010A has a wired keyboard and mouse.
These are of mediocre quality and should not be mistaken for specialized gaming accessories.
There’s also a one-year guarantee on this, with the company promising to fix any hardware problems that arise during that period.
What are people saying about the iBUYPOWER Enthusiast AM010A?
While the iBUYPOWER Enthusiast’s user base isn’t as large as it previously was, it is still regarded as a good desktop.
This is due to its very low cost of entry and usage of common hardware.
Although the case design has been criticized as being excessively big, others have seen this as a potential for future expansions or improvements.
To be honest, there are conflicting emotions among users regarding this.
In terms of performance, individuals who were doing casual or light gaming were generally pleased.
On some light or older games, the desktop could provide almost 60 frames per second, while others, such as Fortnite, could only manage 40-50 frames per second. However, this is only on low or medium settings.
They liked that the desktop could be updated, and many of them have done so.
A better PSU was often required in conjunction with a GPU upgrade, which you should be aware of.
It was simple to replace any of the internal components, and the CPU could be overclocked, which added to their satisfaction.
There were a few hardware problems with some, although they were minor.
Some users, for example, were unable to use the built-in WIFI adapter and were forced to use the Ethernet port and a wired Internet connection.
The quality of the accessories that came with the computer was also disappointing. The users thought they could have done a better job.
There were no significant concerns, apart from the fact that the desktop utilizes outdated technology and the problems that come with it.
