Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey, Grant Fuhr and Mark Messier were on the Oilers’ team in 1982, and they were far superior to any other franchise. Before the postseason, the Oilers led the NHL with 417 goals and were second with 111 points. When they found out they would be playing against the Kings in the playoffs, it had to be a comfortable win. The Kings had a point differential of -55 and had no chance against a great Oilers team.
